Engine Specs & Options
You have the ability to choose the amount of power, performance, and capability that goes under the hood of your 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500, 2021 Ford F-150, or 2021 Ram 1500. Each model offers a menu of engine options in order to customize your pickup experience.
Chevy has two fuel management systems equipped on select engines: Dynamic Fuel Management™ (DFM) or Active Fuel Management™ (AFM). DFM monitors every movement of the accelerator, calculating exactly how much torque is needed to handle the current driving condition. Instantaneously, the engine control system will activate or deactivate cylinders in 17 different patterns to maximize fuel efficiency and create the power needed. AFM senses load and demand, improving efficiency by deactivating cylinders when power demands are light and reactivating the cylinders when more power is required.

Cab & Bed Options
The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 shares many cab and bed options with the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. The Silverado and F-150 have three cab options, and the Ram 1500 only has two. The two Ram cab options are both larger, five-seat options that you may not need on the worksite — in that case, choose the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 or 2021 Ford F-150 with a regular cab, which has a front bench seat that seats three passengers.
Bed options for the Chevy Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, and F-150 are similar as well: Chevy and Ford offer three bed options, and Ram offers two. Ram offers only a 5-foot-7 or 6-foot-4 bed; Ford F-150 offers a 5-foot-5, 6-foot-6, or 8-foot bed options; but you’ll find you can maximize bed space with any Silverado 1500 bed option, which includes 5-foot-8, 6-foot-6, and 8-foot bed options. The Silverado 1500 also has 12 standard tie-down cleats in the bed.
