This was the first time I didn't feel welcome at this dealership. I have a service dog, who does two main task for me. She had alerted me to a low blood sugar just as I arrived, I had treated it but needed to eat my lunch (that I had with me). She was extra alert due to this. A male employee walked in, she made a noise that I corrected, he very loudly states that not a service dog to which she stood up to put herself between him and me, as he acted like he going to come toward & barked. I gave her correction and she stopped but every time she saw him, she reacted. I sat outside so we wouldn't disrupt the other customers and employees. I could feel the aggression & evil from him, I don't know what caused him to be like this. The next morning I got a phone call saying the part was in that needed to be replaced. Took it in the next day, was repaired a hour ahead of the time they thought it would take. Running great now.

It was terrible. I was told that my 2013 Chevy Volt with 60k miles was unfixable. Then they had the nerve to charge me $165 to look at the state of charge on my battery. Dan O says "I got to pay my guys". I bet they all drive $60k trucks. This was my most valuable car. My other car is a 2000 Accord with 233k miles on it. I'll never buy a Chevy product again. This is also the same dealership that tried to gouge my insurance company 9 months earlier. This caused the insurance to declare this same vehicle a total loss. I replaced the headlight which only left a dent in the hood and a cracked grill. We bought the car back because we can't afford to buy another vehicle. Thanks Modern.

The transmission valve body issue was apparently corrected by removing the valve body, reinstalling it (due to damaged in transit replacement), changing fluid and filter at no cost to me. A second valve body was found, inspected before removing the valve body, and found to be unusable due to rust. My truck sat in my shop for two months waiting for expedited valve body’s that were not usable. I’m still using Modern Auto. The service has been dependable and convenient. I will replace my 2015 Sierra with a 2018.

I have always been satisfied with the quality and service from Modern Auto in Washington Mo. But this time didn’t go as well. I have a 2023 GMC 3500HD truck. Had an issue with the infotainment system in my GMC truck. The screen went blank and would not come back on. This was the first time this happened. So I called the service department at Modern Auto told them what was going on. The service department told me they could get me in the next day to look at the issue. So the next day I got in the truck to go to the dealership and the Infotainment system was working but it was missing some apps. Did not have maps or Pandora or my driver information or my wife’s driver information. So I got to the dealership and they started working on it. And I told them that I was going to wait on the repair. So about 1-1/2 to 2 hours later, here’s the out come. I was told that the infotainment system was out of memory. And I thought to myself what the heck??? I’ve been a mechanic for years and years and did programming on multiplex systems and never had this issue. Service advisor told me it was out of memory because of all of the updates it has done in the past. But we got the Pandora app to load but not the maps + because of the memory issue. I was not happy at all with this outcome of the situation. I told the man that we used the map app all of the time because we do a lot of traveling. But I don’t think that made a hill of beans of the situation. I was told to give it a couple of days and if it acts up again to bring it back and they will look at it. We’re leaving for an extended vacation in a few days and will definitely need the Maps. Just asking how can something work just fine one day then all of a sudden it gets a case of Alzheimer’s???

On the plus side Staff was courteous and work done met my expectations. I called on Monday December 15th to make an appointment to have my vehicle looked at due to the cameras not working. I explained what the problem was and they said they could get it in on Wednesday. I dropped the vehicle off Tuesday evening and put my information on the envelope. I got one text message sometime Wednesday about the inspection being completed but the vehicle was not ready to be picked up yet. I also received an email but I did not see it until that evening. My wife saw the email and called and was told that the vehicle was ready to be picked up so she had someone take her because I was unavailable until Friday morning. Who ever she spoke with made a comment that we didn’t have an appointment and they didn’t know why the vehicle was there except for what was written on the key drop envelope which said that the cameras weren’t working. Somewhere there was a break down in communication between whoever scheduled it and whoever took the keys out of the drop box. My questions are if they had my phone number to send a text, why didn’t they call and ask what the problem was or if I even made an appointment and why couldn’t they call or text when it was ready and explain what they had found and what they had done?

Oil change and tire rotation are fine. I had air filter and some cleaning of the vents due to a mold smell. It smells worse than before and cost $200 plus. Sadly, my car has 6500 miles and this mold smell has occurred.

good. a comprehensive checkup to see what needed to be fixed. my only suggestion is that some of this on my repair would be better known sooner instead of a potential 7k bill at once to fix it all. Adding something to my bill when I have my truck there for an oil change would help spread it out.

I was given some misleading information about the vehicle I purchased. I thought it was a Chevy trax active with standard equipment; it was hard to read the sticker that was on the display. When negotiating, I found out it was a Trax LT. I would have researched differently because the car I wanted I could have driven off another dealer lot for $23,205. The one I purchased was $25,500...a difference of almost $2300! I wish the dealer had told me that I was purchasing a Chevy Trax LT1 before I made my offer...I like the car, but would have preferred the same car without the dealer ad ons that I was sold; would have been nice to know those ad ons were told to me. I am upset about the man who negotiated the final price to me was not comparing apples to apples, but apples to oranges! I should have been able to buy that car where I did for very close to the price I was offered at another dealership.

Had 11 o’clock appointment brought it there about 1045. 1215 I called us but the car was ready. I said it should be around 1 o’clock. I expected a phone call. When the fist time the engine light came on, it was diagnosed as catalytic converter, exhaust leak. The light went off and we were told by your service person not to bring it in since the light went off. Not 100 miles later, it came back on and then it was a crack in an oil line, we were shocked that our car healed itself and something else became wrong with it. We had it worked on by your service people $1,362.00 later. Car smoked like a steam engine when we brought it home. My husband called Modern Auto and was told no service people were there. Came home from an appointment Monday and what we thought was oil was ALL over our garage floor. Never had any leaks prior to it going to Modern Auto. They called 1/13/26 and said it was a transmission leak this time. Imagine that!! Not happy at ALL!! We should have NEVER been charged at all!!!

I appreciate the fast service. One issue, my tires were rotated after the recall service. I did not authorize that and unaware that there would be a charge. I used my credit card because I didn’t have cash or know that there was going to be a charge for service I didn’t request and was charged an extra 3%. I could have had my tires rotated at Riechers’s for less and without a credit card charge.

The service on my car was very good. The guys were friendly. The receptionist, not so much. I waited a very long time and could see my car in the shop. I asked her if they had started on it yet and she said it’s done and she called my name a ling time ago. I didn’t hear her but if someone doesn’t answer call it again. I know my car was sitting in the same spot at least 30 minutes ready to go. Very aggravating.

My car's engine was having concerns for awhile with the Equinox known oil burning/motor issues. I was in modern auto a couple of months ago with concerns and was assured my engine would keep going if I had an engine flush done. My tech's exact words were: "You will get another 100,000 miles out of that with regular oil changes." which I knew was complete smoke blown. So fast forward to now, my engine quit, which was to be expected, right?. I had the car towed in just to check what was wrong, which I knew it was probably the end of my motor. I had it looked over and got a call by your tech Leroy. He stated "The engine is blown, cost is 11,000 for a new motor, your bill is 190.00 and I have an offer on your car from a tech to pay your bill and sign it over. First off, no one told me what even component was looked at or ruined with my engine. No one asked if I had a loan against my car before offering to pay my bill in exchange for my title. When I came and paid my bill, I had to ask what was exactly looked at. What components failed? The other tech mouthed something/whispered something to him. They didn't seem to have a clear answer. Although, I'm aware my motor was in poor shape prior to the engine flush recommended, no one could explain why, but they could sure make an offer on my car. I have researched GM policy and have read that it goes against policy to have techs or employees make such offers directly to customers. I paid my bill, towed my car off your lot, and I and my family will NOT be back to modern auto for any future car service or new car purchases.
